salaam

this is the favorite soup of my children: the turkish yoghourt soup!

for one family you need:

-500 gr of plain yoghurt
-a good handfull rice
-2-4 eggs (depends on their size)
-some plain flour
-if you have : homemade chickenbrouth, if you don't have : just a little cube
-salt
-red pepper powder (not the hot one!)
-dried mint, grounded
-some butter

In a pot cook in boiling chicken brouth (or water) the rice until it's ready to eat.
In a bowl apart mix the eggyolk (? i mean the the yellow part)of the eggs with the yoghurt and only than (!) add about 2 - 4 tablespoons of plain flour. mix well. take some hot brouth (or water) from the pot and add to the boil too, mix.
than put all this in the pot while stirring. low the heat. Only now(!) add the salt and, if you have cooked with water instead of brouth, add the cube. stirr well.

In a little pan melt butter with red paprika. serve the soup with sprinkled over with the red butter sauce and grounded mint.

Bon appetit yellow-bouquet

salaam

Another great recipe mashaAllah - we had this today - my husband really liked it a lot alhamdulilah barakAllahu feeki.
The only thing that I added was a small amount of shredded chicken that I had left over from yesterday's macaroona.

Here's a pic:

salamu aleykum,

yes, that is exactly how it looks like :mashsa01: !!
Glad you likes it.
Yes chickken leftovers are a good idea, me too i do this from time to time.
Another variation i have from my turkish cookbook is : you add just little pieces of cooked lambmeat and chickpeas!
